"winter" isn't so bad

After a long few first few days and with jet lag still hanging around like an unwelcome house guest, we decided that a beach day was in order. In the beginnings of an Australian winter, we donned our bathing suits and sunblock and took off for the beach where the sand was cool and the air was a perfect 70 degrees.

After situating ourselves on the beach we took to the water, and oh my was it beautiful.

Well, beautiful was an understatement. Breathtaking really. I mean, crystal blue waters so clear you could count the sand beneath your toes if you wanted to tends to have that effect on people.

Slightly tanner than before, we returned home after a long beach day, which for me was followed closely by a much needed shower/nap combo and a reunion with a lovely friend from PC over my first Vietnamese meal. (If you haven't tried pho, do it, it's great. Trust me.)

A bit later in the night (and full of delicious noodle soup), we traveled down to Darling Harbor where we danced until our feet were sore; and, happy and exhausted, returned home to curl up into bed.

But not for too long since we're off again, since today we're setting out to walk a 5k along the water down at Bondi Beach where the views (and the weather) both promise to be spectacular. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to follow!
