midterms are ruff

Prepping for midterms last week was rough. Or should I say ruff? Which is why having a visit from my good pal Kath and the Halloween Dog Parade to look forward to made coping just a little bit easier.

The one main sucky part about no longer living at home, for me, is how much I miss my dogs. So the Halloween Dog Parade was the perfect excuse to spend some time in the sun, getting burnt and petting dogs dressed up as a whole host of creative things. There was a King Tut pup, several popes, a pilot, some lions, and even an entire mariachi band.

People went all out - and for that I am eternally grateful.

not absolutely terrified of

Baxter was a huge fan of my dog shoes

Kath visited me from Boston for the weekend, and after working my butt off all week and powering through three very sleep deprived shifts at Bagel Boss, I was ready to enjoy a little R&R.

Wine and Halloween movies is a winning
combination
We got to be reunited with our good friend Taylor
via facetime, and also got to meet her goldendoodle
puppy, Luna!

The High Line was a fun way for Kath to see more of the city,
and also spend some time outdoors

This week's blog post is a little bit backwards, since I'm working from Saturday, to Friday, to Thursday. Thursday was awesome because Pace was sponsoring a site visit to Simon and Schuster where the head of HR gave us a presentation and allowed us to ask as many questions as we wanted about the industry, interviewing for positions, and anything else we could think of.

Oh...and we also got free books.

So all in all a very very very good day.

Now for Sunday. The day of rest, midterm writing, and Halloween movie watching.

Because despite how busy I might get, starting off the week with a restful Sunday is important to set the tone for a great week ahead.

Rupi Kaur's new collection of poems is fantastic
and I highly recommend it

My favorite Halloween movie of all time, ever since I saw it
for the first time way back in my middle school days
Cheers,
Katie
