i had 36 hours of the 4th of july to celebrate this weekend, so i made sure they all counted (part 2)

So day 2 in Cairns promised to be an interesting one. At dinner the night before, I made the impulsive decision to go bungy jumping and it still hadn't hit me that it was really happening later on that very day.

In the mean time, we had another early wakeup, quick breakfast, and then a trip into the rain forest to spend the day with some fabulously beautiful waterfalls.

Our first stop was about a 40 minute bus ride from where we were staying where we swam in crystal clear water and chugged coffee to wake ourselves up.

Naturally filtered water straight from the surrounding mountains, I stopped to fill up my water bottle before we left.

Another quick bus ride, and we arrived at the breathtakingly gorgeous Victoria Falls.

It didn't take long before we were back in the water, using the naturally slippery boulder provided by good old Mother Nature as our own personal water slide.

Cold, wet and starving, we made our way back to the bus, equal parts terrified and excited for what the rest of the day had in store.

Cheers
Katie
