i'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour

What better way to celebrate being a 20-something year old girl living in the city than by watching every episode of Friends while curled up on your couch?

Actually going to the Friends apartment located at 90 Bedford Street and taking a picture of it while simultaneously freaking out that you're seeing the building in real life and not just on your computer screen.

And so that is exactly what I did one sunny afternoon this week. Because for all the times I have come into New York City, I had never visited the Friends apartment. And I felt like that needed to be changed ASAP. After adequately freaking out and taking photographs of it from every possible angle, I walked on and eventually found myself on Canal Street haggling with men about how much to pay for the "sterling silver" earrings they were trying to sell me.

This past week was definitely one of adventures, but it was also one of enjoying the little things.

Like a mug full of wine with one of your best friends on a lovely, sunny Friday afternoon:

Big fan of my roomie's mug!
Or like spotting some cool street art on your walk to class:

Or like bringing home a rainbow bagel and birthday cake cream cheese from work so that way you can eat cake for breakfast and no one can tell you not to:

Or like look up on your walk home from class and being blessed with this incredible view:

But this week's real adventure was on Friday when I googled a list of things to do in NYC and stumbled across Governor's Island. Just a 25 minute subway ride from where I live and an 8 minute ferry ride over to the island itself, it seemed like the perfect day trip for a beautiful fall day. And when I found out the ferry cost $2 roundtrip and the bike rental company located on the island has a free hour if you get there before noon on weekdays, I was stoked. Because the only thing I love more than exploring the city I've been coming to all my life, is getting to explore it cheaply.

Homecoming was also on the agenda for the weekend which meant a quick trip back to Long Island to watch my brother play in his first ever homecoming game, playing with my dogs and endlessly harassing/embarrassing my siblings.

Until next week!

Cheers,
Katie

  1. Hey nice blog. Very colorful pictures. I was at my niece's homecoming last weekend and my mom has a dog that looks almost exactly like that.
